oh, no, sorry, wrong text...
so:
this is just to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the break down of the Berlin-wall that divided my country for thirty years.
although Germany officially reunited only one year later, the break down of the wall marked the end of the socialist system in East Germany that had been in place since even longer.
i was born twenty years ago in the west.
now i study in a town that was in a different country back then.
if it hadn't been for those brave people on both sides of the wall, who wanted democracy and personal freedom, i could not be sitting here right now at my window sill and watch the people in this eastern town and the children who only got to live in a united Germany and who will hopefully seal the last remaining divisions between east and west.
i can't remember the reunification.
my parents told me that, when my family moved to the East in 1992, we watched some Russian troops withdraw.
when we lived in the east we were known as the "Wessis" (westerners). when we later moved to the west people thought of us as "Ossis" (easterners).
usually, it wasn't meant nicely. i didn't mind though, there are worse things to be called than the region where you come from.
today, i hear those words less and less.
maybe we finally get there: a country that we think of as one country. and not two halves.

Twilight is the story of a girl and a family of seemingly incestuous sparkling rocks. Girl gets knocked-up and marries her baby's daddy, who is in fact, one of the immortal disco balls. Nothing exciting ends up happening. The end.
